L’homme semblait un peu confus, mais il les emmena tout de même au Tim Hortons où ils burent du chocolat chaud. Il leur donna aussi des bonbons étranges. Il disait qu'ils étaient faits de sirop d’érable. Le goût était plutôt agréable mais le bonbon était dur sur l’estomac.
« On dirait du maltose, pensa Kae. Le goût lui rappelait les bonbons que lui donnait sa grand-mère.
- D’où venez-vous ? demanda l’homme au sirop d’érable.
- Nous sommes de Taiwan, répondit Tommy.
- Taiwan ?! Cool, j’ai toujours voulu aller là. Mais cela n’explique pas ce que vous faites ici sans manteaux ni bottes.
- Nous étions à une fête. J’ai secoué une boule de cristal et nous sommes apparus ici, dit Kae.
L’homme claqua des doigts, il avait tout compris.
- Venez avec moi, voulez-vous. »
The guy looked a little confused but still took them to the Tim Hortons where they drank hot chocolate. He also gave them some weird candy, he said it was maple syrup. The taste was pretty good but the candy was heavy on the stomach.
« It’s like maltose, thought Kae. The taste reminded him the candies that his grandma would give him.
- Where are you from? asked the maple syrup guy.
- We’re from Taiwan, replied Tommy.
- Taiwan?! Nice, I always wanted to go there. But that doesn’t explain what you’re doing here not wearing any coat or boots.
- We were at a party. I shook a crystal ball and then we appeared here? said Kae.
He snapped his fingers as he understood everything.
- Come with me would you. »
那位先生看起來有點困惑，但他還是帶他們到咖啡廳裡喝點熱巧克力。他還給了他們一些奇怪的糖果，他說那是楓糖糖果。它嚐起來很不錯，不過肚子有點不舒服。
「這就像麥芽糖...奶奶...」凱想到。
「所以...你們來自哪裡？」楓糖先生問。
「我們來自台灣。」湯米回答。
「台灣？！太棒了，我一直想去那。但那無法解釋你們為什麼在這，而且還沒穿任何的禦寒衣物或是靴子。」
「我們本來在一場派對。我搖晃了一顆水晶球然後我們就出現在這了。」凱說道。
